Eoghan MacSheain

Over the last fifteen years, Eoghan MacSheain has written and recorded music all over the world. Honing his production skills during recording sessions with legendary producers such as Chris Kimsey (The Rolling Stones) Rob Kirwan (U2 / Hozier), Grammy Award Winner Dave Odlum (The Frames), and Ron 'Bumblefoot' Thal (Guns N' Roses / Asia / Sons Of Apollo), Eoghan opened Wildwater Studios in 2021.

Since opening his own studio, Eoghan engineered on The Dodies‘ second and third albums ‘Floating In Limbo‘, and 'Dreamism', respectively, while Ron ‘Bumblefoot’ Thal, as well as many other successful projects at Wildwater Studios.

Guitarist / Composing History

As a guitar player, Eoghan has shared the stage with music legends such as Spencer Davis, Bobby Kimball, Chris Slade, Ron ‘Bumblefoot’ Thal, The Saw Doctors and many more. Eoghan’s latest project The Midnight Preachers has released a critically acclaimed EP, whose lead single made its debut at number 2 on iTunes in Ireland, and whose second single was nominated as Track Of The Week in Classic Rock Magazine – with all songs being written / co-written by Eoghan.

As a songwriter, Eoghan has written, released and performed on music which has been featured in TV, documentaries and film. Most recently, Eoghan co-wrote, produced, mixed and played on ‘To The Crows‘, a single from The Midnight Preachers which was on June 14 2022 to coincide with the US movie in which it was featured – ‘Erzulie.’ ‘Erzulie’ was released in US Cinemas, and later on Netflix.

Awards & Achievements

As part of Shadowplay / The Rain, Eoghan was winner of the Budweiser Future Sounds Competition, the Hot Press Lift Off Competition as well as the Summit Bandslam Award. Eoghan was also awarded the Irish Government’s Music Capital Award Scheme in 2013 as a solo musician.

Music Camps

Eoghan has organised and hosted music camps with world renowned music talent such as Ron ‘Bumblefoot’ Thal. This involved co-ordinating music talent from all over the world, booking venues, hotels, food, flights and more. These camps are sponsored by some of the world’s most well known music companies – including DiMarzio, Vigier, Klotz Cables and more.

Brand Ambassador

Eoghan has been an Endorsed Artist / Brand Ambassador for many well known music companies – including Vigier Guitars (2012 – Present), DiMarzio Electronics (2017 – Present), Breedlove Guitars (2018 – Present), AMT Electronics (2014 – Present) and more. This work has involved representing the above companies at the world’s largest trade shows, such as NAMM & Frankfurt Musikmesse.

Eduacation / Lecturing

Eoghan has an Honours Bachelor Degree in Music & History, as well as a Master’s in Irish History with a dissertation focusing on Music and its contribution to the formation of Irish identity. Eoghan achieved Grade 8 in Pianoforte at the Royal Irish Academy Of Music under the tutelage of world-renowned pianist Ruth McGinley.

Eoghan has been lecturing on Accredite Academic Courses to American Universities since 2011 on the subjects of music in Ireland, peace & conflict resolution and Irish History. These Universities include UMASS Amherst, Alverno, St Olaf, Boston College and more. This involved working with Nobel Peace Prize Winner John Hume, as well as numerous Irish Mayors and politicians.
